Our Story

We grew up together, arguing about games the way most kids argue about games, except our arguments kept turning into spreadsheets. Over time the sports stayed the same, but the arguing turned into modeling, and the modeling turned into a real, profitable edge over the sportsbooks.

For over five years, all three of us have worked full time as sports bettors and traders, building our own individual track records away from the spotlight. Those records are genuinely what convinced us we had something worth sharing. Not a hot streak, but a repeatable process built on data analysis, math, and a statistical edge.

Why Start From Zero?

None of that private betting history is something we can hand you as proof, and we are not going to ask you to just take our word for it either. Instead, Line Theory exists to fill that gap, build a brand new record, in public, timestamped before every single game. Anyone can check our work, day by day, instead of trusting a resume.

That is also why the picks are free right now, on purpose, while that record gets built from scratch. A verified track record only means something if it started before anyone was paying to see it.

Why Now?

There is a part of long term winning that very few handicappers explain. When you win consistently enough, for long enough, and the sportsbooks notice. Limits get implemented, accounts get restricted, and eventually some get closed outright, not because anything was done wrong, but because a sportsbook's business depends on customers who lose over time, not ones who prove they can beat the number.

Any long-term successful sportsbettor will experience limits of some sort, much like we have. The edge is still there; we simply cannot always get enough volume down on it to make a difference.

So our own focus is shifting toward the modeling and the data side of the industry, the part that scales regardless of what any single sportsbook is willing to let us wager. Picks are not going away, and publishing them here, in the open, timestamped and graded, is a better use of that edge than fighting for bigger limits ever was; it is also exactly how the record we are building gets built.

Where This Is Headed

Picks are the starting point, not the destination. Line Theory's goal, is to turn what we have learned into advanced sports betting models, algorithms, and data analysis software; tools built the way we wish they had existed when we were doing this ourselves, without the shortcuts and without the guesswork.
